Road Ready TrackRR Lite Locates Every Asset with Ease
Road Ready has officially introduced TrackRR Lite, a smart, battery-powered tracking device. This new tool is designed to solve a major headache for fleet managers: losing track of equipment that doesn’t have its own power source. Whether it is a storage container, a seasonal trailer, or specialized job site equipment, TrackRR Lite ensures you always know exactly where your assets are located.
A Simple Solution for Non-Powered Assets
Most high-end tracking systems require a connection to a truck’s engine or battery to work. However, many valuable assets—like flatbed trailers or shipping containers—often sit idle for days or weeks without power.
TrackRR Lite was built specifically for these “unpowered” items. It is a self-contained unit that does not need any wiring. Because it runs on its own internal battery, it is perfect for equipment that operates independently or is used only once in a while. According to Jeff Irish, General Manager of Road Ready, the device was created to prevent the “lost time and money” that happens when equipment goes missing.
Advanced Technology in a Compact Box
Even though it is “Lite” in name, the device is heavy on technology. It uses LTE-M cellular connectivity, which is a specialized network for “Internet of Things” (IoT) devices. This ensures the tracker can send data over long distances while using very little battery power.
The device provides highly accurate location data by supporting both GPS (the American satellite system) and GLONASS (the global navigation system). Every time the device “pings” its location, it includes a time stamp so you can see a breadcrumb trail of where the asset has been.
Total Visibility with the Fus1on Platform
One of the best features of TrackRR Lite is how it talks to your existing office software. It integrates directly with the Road Ready Fus1on platform.
Fus1on acts as a “single pane of glass” for fleet managers. Instead of logging into different websites to see your trucks and your trailers, everything shows up on one map. You can monitor your powered tractors and your non-powered TrackRR Lite assets in one interface. The system also allows you to:
-
Adjust reporting intervals: You can choose how often the device sends an update to save battery.
-
Get theft alerts: Set up “geofences” to get a notification if an asset leaves a specific area.
-
Monitor utilization: See which equipment is working and which is sitting empty.
Built for the Toughest Environments
Trucking equipment has to survive rain, mud, and extreme vibrations. TrackRR Lite is built with a rugged, weather-sealed housing. It has earned IP67 and IP69K ratings, which means it is completely dust-tight and can even survive a high-pressure hot water wash at a truck wash station.
Installation is incredibly fast. You can mount it using heavy-duty VHB tape (a “peel-and-stick” method) or use standard hardware like bolts for a more permanent fit. Since there is no wiring, most fleets can install the device in just a few minutes per asset.
Long-Lasting Reliability
Road Ready designed TrackRR Lite for the long haul. The device is built for multi-year battery life, so you don’t have to worry about charging it every month. It is currently available for fleets across North America.
