Dedication to Sustainability

Mack Trucks is celebrating a significant milestone: the 50th anniversary of its industry-leading remanufacturing division, REMACK. For half a century, REMACK has been at the forefront of sustainable business practices, transforming used truck components into premium, like-new parts that offer the same reliability and performance as new ones. This innovative approach provides substantial cost savings for customers while making a profound contribution to environmental stewardship.

Since its founding in 1975, REMACK has prevented millions of pounds of materials from entering landfills. The remanufacturing process is remarkably efficient, using up to 85% less material and 80% less energy than producing a new part from scratch. This commitment to a circular economy is a cornerstone of Mack Trucks’ sustainability initiatives.

REMACK’s dedication to sustainability is further demonstrated by its state-of-the-art facilities. Both the Middletown Remanufacturing Center (MRC) in Pennsylvania and the facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, are certified landfill-free, ensuring that virtually all materials are recycled or repurposed. These centers also support the generation of renewable energy for 100% of their electricity demand, setting a high standard for sustainable manufacturing in the trucking industry.

Remanufactured Parts for Quality that leads to Affordability

The quality of REMACK’s remanufactured parts is a testament to the division’s skilled technicians, who have an average of 22 years of experience. They use advanced technologies like electromagnetic crack detection and precision CNC machining to ensure every component meets the exacting standards of new Mack parts. With more than 25 different product lines, from engines and transmissions to modern components like Mack mDRIVE Automated Manual Transmissions, REMACK continues to evolve with the industry while maintaining its core commitment to quality and sustainability.  Read the full press release here.
