Fleetio Launches New EV Fleet Management Module

Last Updated: August 19, 2025By

As more fleets transition to electric vehicles (EVs), the need for specialized management tools has become critical. In response, Fleetio, a leading provider of fleet management software, has launched a new module specifically designed to address the unique challenges of EV operations. This new platform helps fleet managers track energy consumption, monitor charging status, and optimize routes to avoid range anxiety. The module integrates seamlessly with existing Fleetio features, providing a single pane of glass for managing both internal combustion engine (ICE) and EV assets.

The new EV module provides real-time data on battery state of charge, which is crucial for planning daily operations. Moreover, it allows fleets to track charging events, cost per charge, and energy consumption metrics to accurately measure the return on investment of their EV assets. A case study highlighted in a recent Fleetio blog post demonstrated how a commercial delivery fleet used the module to optimize its charging schedule, resulting in a 15% reduction in electricity costs by strategically charging during off-peak hours. This is an important consideration as electricity rates can vary significantly throughout the day.

In addition, the module provides robust reporting on the performance of EV batteries and motors, which helps fleets forecast maintenance needs more effectively. Because EV maintenance is different from ICE vehicle maintenance, having specialized data is essential for long-term fleet health. Ultimately, this new tool ensures that fleets can confidently scale their EV adoption without sacrificing operational efficiency. “The future of transportation is electric, and our new module is designed to provide fleets with the visibility and control they need to successfully manage this transition,” said a Fleetio product manager in a recent press release.
