New Mapping Tools Transform Fleet Safety and Weigh Station ROI
Visualizing Risk for Proactive Safety Coaching
Fleet safety managers constantly seek new ways to move from reactive reporting to proactive risk management. Fleetworthy recently announced two significant enhancements to its safety and compliance products that directly enable this shift. Specifically, they launched the new Site Visits Map View within the Drivewyze Safety+ product. This feature provides map visualization across various safety fronts. Through Safety+, drivers already receive proactive location-based, in-cab alerts regarding potential safety risks, such as high-citation speeding zones, severe weather, and high-rollover areas. Fleetworthy VP of Product, Martin Murtland, stated the Map View gives an instant snapshot of various risk areas so managers can provide coaching immediately.
The new Map View is transforming how fleets monitor and respond to risk. For example, safety managers can overlay severe National Weather Service (NWS) alerts with the real-time location of their trucks. This integrated view allows managers to visually see which drivers are in danger zones and take immediate action to minimize exposure. Furthermore, the system allows managers to quickly identify drivers needing additional coaching. The visualization highlights event clusters, making it easier to pinpoint at-risk drivers and target training. This move helps fleets enforce policies and warn about risks like predatory parking locations. Learn more about Fleetworthy’s safety enhancements here.
Quantifying the Return on Weigh Station Bypass
Beyond safety, the company also addressed the need for clear operational return on investment (ROI). Fleetworthy introduced the Drivewyze PreClear Savings Overview Report, a new interactive dashboard. This tool helps customers calculate the financial benefits of the popular weigh station bypass service. Drivewyze PreClear helps fleets avoid unnecessary inspections at over 925 locations across North America.
The new Savings Overview Report clearly highlights the measurable financial and operational value of these bypasses. Consequently, the report quantifies the ROI by measuring savings on fuel, time, and even reduced carbon dioxide emissions. The interactive maps and charts provide necessary insights into current coverage and offer opportunities for the fleet to increase its bypass savings. Murtland noted that by making bypass ROI transparent, Fleetworthy empowers fleets to optimize operations and savings. Ultimately, this new reporting demonstrates the measurable impact Drivewyze PreClear has on the bottom line, reinforcing the case for wider adoption.
